An encore is an additional performance added to the end of a concert, fromthe French "encore", which means "again", "some more"; multiple encores are notuncommon. Encores originated spontaneously, when audiences would continue toapplaud and demand additional performance from the artist after the concert hadended。
In some modern circumstances, encores have come to be expected, and artistsoften plan their encores. Traditionally, in a concert that has a printed setlist for the audience, encores are not listed, even when they are planned。
