1、At registration, I can see all my classmates before classes start
注冊時我就可以在開學(xué)前見到所有的同學(xué)。
registration:注冊、報到 其動詞形式 register
Have you registered for this new semester?
新學(xué)期你注冊過了嗎?
2、You should select the courses you want to take before you go to register.
注冊前你要先把你自己想讀的課程選好
選課:Select the courses/take the courses
Now we have to select our classes through the internet within the first two weeks
現(xiàn)在我們必須在開學(xué)的前兩周內(nèi)在網(wǎng)上選課
3、I don’t like my English teacher, so I am going to drop his class.

實(shí)用口語練習(xí):你把事情搞砸了
1.You blow it!
你把事情搞砸了!
We could have got the deal , but you blew the whole thing!
我們原本可以達(dá)成那筆交易的, 但是你把整個事情都搞砸了!
2. Get lost !
滾開吧!
Why don't you get lost? You filthy scum!
這個沒用的東西, 為什么不離我遠(yuǎn)一點(diǎn)呢?
filthy 是臟的意思。scum則指「污垢」、 「廢物」。
3. Get on a person's nerves !
把某人惹毛
You're really getting on my nerves.
你真的`把我惹火了喔!
nerve 除了「神經(jīng)」, 還有「膽量」的意思。如 "He had the nerve to say that." 他竟然有膽說那種話。
4. hard feelings 怨氣
Man, I'm really sorry about what happened last night.
老兄啊! 昨晚的事真是抱歉...
It's all right. It's over with. No hard feelings.
沒關(guān)系。已經(jīng)過去了。沒什么好生氣了。
It's over with" 是「已經(jīng)過去了」。結(jié)束某種不愉快的情緒, 可以用 「get over」。 如 "I know you were mad at him for what he had done. But, it has been five years. Get over it." 我知道你很氣他所作的事, 但是這已經(jīng)是五年前的事了, 你應(yīng)該釋懷了。
5. at the top of one's lungs
大聲喊
I'm here right in front of you. Why are you yelling at me at the top of your lungs?
我就在妳面前, 你為什么要對我大聲吼叫呢
實(shí)用口語練習(xí):背后捅刀
1、 Get off my back. 不要管我!
Why don't you get off my back? You've been bitching at me all night.
你為何不讓我一個人安靜一下? 你整個晚上都在抱怨我。
"bitch" 是「母狗」的意思, 也有人用來罵「兇悍的女子」"bitch" 還有「抱怨」的意思,
"Why are you so bitchy today?"
你今天怎么好象是吃錯藥似的, 抱怨個不停?
2、leave someone alone ! 不干涉; 聽其自然
Isn't it about time Jane visited her hairdresser? Her bangs are hanging all over her face now.
Jane 該去見她的美發(fā)師了吧! 她的瀏海都(長到)垂到臉上了。
Leave her alone. Maybe she likes to have her eyes covered so she doesn't have to see your face.
妳管她! 也許她希望(頭發(fā)長到)把眼睛蓋住, 好看不見你的臉啊!
"leave me alone" 和上一句中的 "Get off my back" 意思很像, 都有要求別人「不要管」的意思。"hairdresser" 是花時間整理你頭發(fā)的「美發(fā)師」; "barber" 則是收費(fèi)低廉, 5分鐘就把你的頭發(fā)剪好送出門的「理發(fā)師」。
3、stab a person in the back 背后捅刀; 出賣某人
I can't believe my best friend stabbed me in the back.
我不敢相信我最好的朋友竟然出賣我。
"stab a person in the back" 和 "sell a person out" 都是「出賣某人」的意思。
4、 take it out on a person 向某人泄怒
Be angry all you want. Don't take it out on me. I didn't do anything.
你盡量生氣, 別把氣出在我頭上就是了。我又沒怎樣。
"Don't vent your anger on me." 也是「別把氣出在我頭上」的意思。
實(shí)用口語練習(xí):不得不分
1、It is really not working.
我們的感情真的行不通。
2、I am over you
我和你之間結(jié)束了。
I am all over you
我對你非常著迷。
3、We have grown apart.
我們都各自成長了。
4、The magic is gone from our relationship.
我們之間的愛情魔力已經(jīng)不見了。
5、I think we should just be friend.
我想我們之間還是做朋友好了。
6、You are really too good for me
我真的配不上你。
另一種表達(dá):I don’t deserve you.
7、I had fallen out with my girlfriend.
我不理我的女朋友了。
8、We decided to break up, to be more precise she dumped me.
我們決定分手了,更確切的說是她甩了我。
實(shí)用口語練習(xí):口語當(dāng)中的ball
① We all wore festive costumes to the ball.
我們都穿著節(jié)日的盛裝前去參加舞會。
在這個句子中,ball是“舞會”的意思。
、诙陶Zon the ball表示的是“有知識,有才華,辦事利索”等意思。
He is a teacher who is really on the ball. 他是個了不起的老師。
那么,由此類推,have nothing on the ball就是“沒有才華,辦事不利”的意思了。
a student who has nothing on the ball 學(xué)得一塌糊涂的學(xué)生
、塾袝r候,我們還會用ball這個詞來指代某件事情或者某個任務(wù),比如:
The ball is in your court now. 現(xiàn)在球已到你那邊了。(言下之意即得由你做決定了)
I am glad you have started the ball rolling. 很高興你把這事推動起來了。
④ 我們知道fireball是“火球”的意思,在日常表達(dá)中其實(shí)也常常引申為“成功、熱情、精力旺盛”之意。例如:
I hope John will join us, he is a fireball (or he is a ball of fire). 我希望約翰能加入我們,他是個精力旺盛的人。
⑤ a ball of fortune fortune有“命運(yùn)”的意思,a ball of fortune就是被命運(yùn)踢來踢去的球,引申為受命運(yùn)擺布的人,命運(yùn)多舛的人。例如:
He has been a ball of fortune from his childhood. 從童年開始他就是一個命運(yùn)多舛的人。
、 have (onself) a ball 在口語中是玩得開心,玩得痛快的意思,相當(dāng)于我們常說的have a good time
實(shí)用口語練習(xí):你擔(dān)心什么呢?
1. Is something on your mind?
你擔(dān)心什么呢?
Do you have something on your mind?
What's on your mind?
2. Why are you so glum?
你怎么看起來悶悶不樂的?
Glum:憂郁的
3. Why the long face? (Why do you have such a long face?)
你怎么看起來這么不高興呢?
Why do you seem so unhappy?
4. You're not yourself today.
你今天有點(diǎn)心神不寧。
You don't seem to be yourself today.
5. Who are you irritated with?
誰惹你生氣了?
Be irritated with 的意思是“為……而急躁,為……而發(fā)怒”。
