There was a small boy living on a farm.He needed to get up before sunrise every morning to start his chores and out again later to do the evening ones.
有個(gè)小男孩住在一個(gè)農(nóng)場(chǎng)里,每天早上,他要在太陽(yáng)升起之前,開(kāi)始干家務(wù)活,稍作休息之后,又要開(kāi)始干晚上的活了.
During sunrise he would take a break and climb up on the fence so in the distance he could see the house with golden windows. He thought how great it would be to live there and his mind would wander to imagine the modern equipment and appliances that might exist in the house .He then promised himself ,"Some day I will go there and see his wonderful place."
在太陽(yáng)升起的時(shí)候,他能休息片刻,他就爬到籬笆上,在那兒他可以欣賞到很遠(yuǎn)地方的一座有著金色窗戶的房子.他想要是能在那里住該有多好呀,于是開(kāi)始想像那座房子里會(huì)有現(xiàn)代化的家具和電器,他對(duì)自己說(shuō):"總有一天,我要去那個(gè)美妙的地方看看."
Then one morning his father told him to stay at home and his father would do the chores. Knowing that this was his chance,he packed a sandwich and headed across the field towards the house with the golden windows.
一天早上,父親讓他呆在家里,而父親去干那些活.小男孩知道這是他唯一的機(jī)會(huì)了,于是他包起一個(gè)三明治,穿越田野,走向那個(gè)帶有金色窗戶的的`房子.
As the afternoon went on ,he began to realize how he misjudged the distance and something else was very wrong. As he approached the house ,he saw no golden windows but instead a place in bad need of a painting surrounded by a broken down fence.He went to the tattered screen door and knocked.A small boy very close to his age opened the door.
隨著傍晚漸漸來(lái)臨,他開(kāi)始意識(shí)到,可能他把路程想得太近了,而且好像還有點(diǎn)什么其他的也不對(duì)頭.當(dāng)他走近那個(gè)房子時(shí),壓根兒就沒(méi)有看到那些金色的窗戶,看到的只是一間被破舊不堪的籬笆圍起來(lái)的急需粉刷的老屋.他敲了敲那扇破破爛爛的門,一個(gè)和他年齡相仿的小男孩開(kāi)了門.
He asked him if he had seen the house with the golden windows.The boy said "Sure ,I know." and invited him to sit on the porch.As he sat there ,he looked back from where he just came where the sunset turned the windows on his home to Gold.
他問(wèn)他有沒(méi)有見(jiàn)過(guò)一座有著金色窗子的房子,開(kāi)門的小男孩回答到:當(dāng)然知道,小男孩邀請(qǐng)他一起坐到他家的門廊上看.于是他回望自己的家,在夕陽(yáng)的映襯下,他的家變成了一座有著金色窗戶的房子.
