外國人見面時通常只是說Hello或Hi或How are you doing ?或How are you doing this morning ? How are things with you ?

How is life treating you ?

若遇上熟人的`話,甚至可以說(pigeon English混雜英語) Long time no see(you)用上。

  初次見面時聽到對方說How do you do ?

How do you do ?

native speakers說Nice meeting you或Nice to have met you.

  1、What’s up?

  2、What’s happening?

  3、What’s going on?

  4、How’s it going?

  5、How’s everything?

  6、How’s everything going with you?

What’s up? What’s happening?

  1. The seventies saw a succession of one-hit wonders who were famous overnight and then never heard of again.

  a flash in the pan:曇花一現(xiàn)

  3. Her popularity appears to be a one-time blip rather than the start of a new trend.

  one-time blip:曇花一現(xiàn)

  4. Dont worry about the story of you in the newspaper. Itll be a nine days wonder and then people will forget.

  1 He is gay.

  女同性戀則是 lesbian(拉拉)

He is homosexual.”

He is queer.”,

  2. I am straight.

He is straight- acting.

“網(wǎng)絡(luò)團購”,譯為team buying on the Internet, group buying on the Web

30%Off

70%Off

  1. Head Start

Many poor parents send their children to Head Start.

To know more colloquial expressions is a head start in learning English.

  2. blue blood

Some people do not want to admit that they have blue blood.

Many blue blooded children attend this private school.

  3. bed of roses

Life is not always a bed of roses.

Pig out = make a pig of oneself。

We pigged out on pizza last night.

His favorite pig out food is barbecued spareribs.

  2.High on the hog

久而久之,eat/live high on the hog 就成為富有奢侈的象征了。

The boy lived high on the hog after getting his inheritance.

The White House dinner this time is certainly high on the hog.
