當(dāng)考路的考官說(shuō)“pull over”時(shí)，你是否會(huì)不知所措？有人邀請(qǐng)你參加“Potluck Party”時(shí)，你會(huì)不會(huì)空手赴宴？在速食店里，店員問(wèn)“for here or to go?”你是否會(huì)丈二金剛摸不著頭腦，莫名其妙？“Give me a ring!”可不是用來(lái)求婚的。“Drop me a line!” 更非要你排隊(duì)站好。老美說(shuō)“Hi! What‘s up!”你可別說(shuō)“I am fine!”你曾經(jīng)鬧過(guò)這些笑話(huà)嗎？讓我們來(lái)看看，這些字，你怎麼說(shuō)？
Potluck Party：一種聚餐方式，主人準(zhǔn)備場(chǎng)地和餐具，參加的人必須帶一道菜或準(zhǔn)備飲料，最好事先問(wèn)問(wèn)主人的意思。
Pull over！把車(chē)子開(kāi)到旁邊。

Cool：That‘s cool! 等於臺(tái)灣年輕人常用的囗語(yǔ)“酷！”，表示不賴(lài)嘛！用于人或事均可。
What‘s up? = What‘s happening? = What‘s new? 見(jiàn)面時(shí)隨囗問(wèn)候的話(huà)“最近在忙什么？有什么新鮮事嗎？”一般的回答是“Nothing much!”或“Nothing new!”
Cut it out! = Knock it out！= Stop it! 少來(lái)這一套！同學(xué)之間開(kāi)玩笑的話(huà)。
Don‘t give me a hard time! 別跟我過(guò)不去好不好！
Get yourself together! 振作點(diǎn)行不行！
Do you have "the" time? 現(xiàn)在幾點(diǎn)鐘？可別誤以為人家要約你出去。
Hang in there. = Don‘t give up. = Keep trying. 再撐一下。
Give me a break! 你饒了我吧�。ㄩ_(kāi)玩笑的.話(huà)）
Hang on. 請(qǐng)稍候。
Blow it. = Screw up. 搞砸了。
What a big hassle. 真是個(gè)麻煩事。
What a crummy day. 多倒霉的一天。
Go for it. 加油
You bet. = Of course. 當(dāng)然；看我的！
Wishful thinking. 一廂情愿的想法。
Don‘t be so fussy! 別那么挑剔好不好。
It‘s a long story. 唉！說(shuō)來(lái)話(huà)長(zhǎng)。
How have you been? = How are you doing? 你過(guò)得如何？近來(lái)可好?
Take things for granted. 自以為理所當(dāng)然。

Party animal. 開(kāi)Party狂的人(喜歡參加舞會(huì)的人)

A fat chance. =A poor chance. 機(jī)會(huì)很小
I am racking my brains. 我正在絞盡腦
She‘s a real drag. 她真有點(diǎn)礙手礙腳
Spacingout = daydreaming. 做白日夢(mèng)
I am so fed up. 我受夠了！
It doesn‘t go with your dress. 跟你的衣服不配。
What‘s the point? = What are you trying to say? 你的重點(diǎn)是什么？
By all means = Definitely. 一定是。
Let‘s gget a bite. = Let‘s go eat. 去吃點(diǎn)東西吧！
I‘ll buy you a lunch (a drink; a dinner). = It‘s on me. = My treat. 我請(qǐng)客

My stomach is upset. 我的胃不舒服
diarrhea 拉肚子
吃牛排時(shí)，waiter會(huì)問(wèn)“How would you like it?”就是問(wèn)“要幾分熟”的意思，可以選擇rare，medium或 well-done。
I am under the weather. =I am not feeling well. 我不太舒服!
