　　篇一：西部大開發(fā)

　　請將下面這段話翻譯成英文：

　　“西部大開發(fā)”(Western Development)是中國促進經(jīng)濟發(fā)展的一項重要政策。自從實行改革開放的政策以來,尤其是中國東南沿海城市的經(jīng)濟特區(qū)(special economic zone)設(shè)立以來，中國經(jīng)濟發(fā)展迅速。然而，由于位置偏遠、交通落后、與其他地區(qū)交流不足，中國西部地區(qū)在經(jīng)濟、文化、人民生活水平等方面不夠發(fā)達。為了解決地區(qū)間發(fā)展的不平衡，中國開展了“西部大開發(fā)”運動，在引進人才和投資等方面給予西部地區(qū)優(yōu)惠 (preferential)政策。目前“西部大開發(fā)"的成就顯著，東西部地區(qū)的差距正逐漸縮小。

SinceChina adopted the reform and opening-up policy,and especially since the special economic zones wereset up in the coastal cities in southeast China, theChinese economy has grown rapidly. However, owing to its remote location, backwardtransportation, and insufficient exchange with other regions, western China is lessdeveloped in its economy, culture and people's living standard. In order to tackle theimbalanced development among regions, China has launched the campaign of WesternDevelopment, offering preferential policies to the west in many aspects such as introduction oftalents and investment. Now the campaign of Western Development has made remarkableachievements, gradually narrowing the gap between the east and the west.

　　1.第一句中的定語“促進經(jīng)濟發(fā)展的”較長，故將其處理為后置定語修飾“重要政策”，翻譯時，可譯為現(xiàn)在分詞短語或定語從句，此外“促進經(jīng)濟發(fā)展”是該項政策的目的因此宜增譯短語aim at，譯作aiming at promoting economicdevelopment 或 which aims at…。

　　2.第二句“自從…以來，尤其是…”為并列的兩個分句，因此可考慮將其翻譯為兩個由since引導(dǎo)的時間狀語從句 SinceChina adopted..., and especially since the special economic zones were...，注意 since引導(dǎo)的從句要用一般過去時，主句使用現(xiàn)在完成時。

　　3.翻譯第三句的“由于…中國西部地區(qū)…”時，可使用owing to...結(jié)構(gòu)表達“由于…”，而“位置偏遠、交通落后、與其他地區(qū)交流不足”為三個并列的原因，可用并列結(jié)構(gòu)進行直譯。“在…方面不夠發(fā)達”可譯作 be lessdeveloped in…。

　　團購是一種新型的購物方式，顧名思義就是指很多人一起購買同一產(chǎn)品，旨在加大與賣方的談判能力以獲得優(yōu)惠的購買價格。隨著中國電子商務(wù)的繁榮和發(fā)展，網(wǎng)絡(luò)團購在中國網(wǎng)民中流行起來，已經(jīng)成為團購的主要形式。它方便、快捷、價格低、不受地域限制。目前中國的很多網(wǎng)站都在嘗試做團購，并迅速發(fā)展起來，如聚劃算(Juhuasuan)、糯米團(Nuomituan)等。據(jù)了解，網(wǎng)絡(luò)團購的主要群體是中國大中城市的年輕人。

It is convenient, fast, low in price and unrestrainedby regions. Currently many websites in China are trying to launch group buying service andflourish quickly, such as Juhuasuan, Nuomituan. It is known that the majority of online groupbuyers are young people in large and medium-sized cities in China.

　　1.第一句有二個謂語動詞，分別是“是…指…和“旨在”。為了避免譯文出現(xiàn)太多句子，可將第二個分句“指很多人一起購買同一產(chǎn)品”譯為定語從句，用which引導(dǎo);“顧名思義”可以作插入語處理，放在which和means之間。

　　2.第二句也有兩個謂語動詞“流行起來”和“成為…”，翻譯為并列句即可，用and連接。注意“已經(jīng)成為團購的主要形式”要用現(xiàn)在完成時。

　　3.“它方便、快捷、價格低、不受地域限制”的主語“它”，后跟四個并列形容詞作表語，譯為convenient fast,low in price and unrestrained by regions。此外，該句也可以譯為 It has the characteristic ofconvenience, efficiency, inexpensiveness and no territory restriction。

　　4.最后一句中的“據(jù)了解…”可使用it is known that的結(jié)構(gòu)，后跟that引導(dǎo)主語從句。
