如果申請(qǐng)人決定自己動(dòng)手寫推薦信而不去找那種騙錢的中介，那么兩樣?xùn)|西結(jié)合就基本上沒有顧慮了。
Google + 柯林斯英英字典（不要用金山）
使用google可以檢驗(yàn)?zāi)愕谋磉_(dá)是中式的還是native的，因?yàn)槿绻磉_(dá)非常中式，search bar下面會(huì)蹦出好多中英夾雜的網(wǎng)站鏈接，那么就直接否定掉。
筆者曾經(jīng)翻譯過一個(gè)詞“班主任”，很遺憾美國(guó)的高中并不設(shè)有這樣一項(xiàng)職位，網(wǎng)絡(luò)上有譯為teacher in charge of the class，這屬于純粹的“意”譯。外國(guó)人仍然不能第一眼看明白。于是，筆者從班主任的功能出發(fā)，想到了supervisor一詞，然后再次google，非常讓人興奮的是class supervisor一詞有很多uk和美國(guó)的鏈接，而且supervisor是監(jiān)督之意，符合班主任之職責(zé)。
使用柯林斯英英字典的理由是，他給出的英文解釋和例句能夠消除英漢字典中中文解釋的歧義。e.g.challenge the authority在英文中用來形容英勇的行為，有較強(qiáng)的感情色彩，不宜修飾學(xué)生，若修飾學(xué)生直接使用 the courage to question就好，中性且無異議。
最后就是注意句式變化，特別是強(qiáng)調(diào)句型的應(yīng)用。若需強(qiáng)調(diào)被推薦人的某個(gè)特質(zhì)，強(qiáng)調(diào)句型是最理想的選擇，不要通篇全都是陳述句。

吳可馨,2005年8月考入深圳市百年老校南頭中學(xué)高中部,在精英薈萃的一班就讀,我有幸成了她高中階段第一任班主任、第一任語文老師、第一任年級(jí)組長(zhǎng)，得以熟悉并了解她。 可馨有著強(qiáng)烈的進(jìn)取心和求知欲，并且很獨(dú)立、很主動(dòng)地設(shè)計(jì)著自己的人生。她不喜歡輕易跟著別人轉(zhuǎn)。在中考結(jié)束后大多數(shù)學(xué)生都去狂歡放松的時(shí)候，她選擇了暑期語言進(jìn)修。這使她后來的中文成績(jī)、英文成績(jī)?cè)谀昙?jí)近千名學(xué)生中一直遙遙領(lǐng)先。她很擅長(zhǎng)寫作，這除了得益于她的想象力和創(chuàng)造力，更多依賴于她思維的個(gè)性和深度。她的隨筆有一種獨(dú)特的韻味和有別于常人的思考，她不喜歡寫空話，無論是寫自己生活的瑣屑，還是發(fā)表對(duì)他人、對(duì)時(shí)事的看法，她絕對(duì)說真話。所以她的文章總是吸引很多人，大家還常常被她文章中的悲憫情懷所打動(dòng)，一個(gè)被辭退的教師，一位答不上題的同學(xué)，一只流浪的貓等等，都會(huì)讓她頓生惻隱之心。更難得的是，她還剖析這些事件背后的文化意義，這就使得她身上散發(fā)著一種古老的人文精神，和她的獨(dú)立態(tài)度和自由精神一樣，這是她超越同屆學(xué)生們的地方。作為一名熱愛讀書的女生，她有很敏感的心，對(duì)語言尤其有一種細(xì)膩而透徹的悟性，這使得她的文字溫婉而不失一種張力。

某同學(xué)與我相處了四年之久，其特點(diǎn)在我心中如繁天星斗，明滅可辨，卻又?jǐn)?shù)之不盡。
某同學(xué)與人為善，這向來為眾人所稱道。入某（你所在中學(xué)）中學(xué)以來，從未與同學(xué)發(fā)生過爭(zhēng)執(zhí)，更未曾頂撞過老師。他處處與人方便，時(shí)時(shí)笑臉待人，深得大家的喜愛。即使老師偶爾批評(píng)他，他也是坦然面對(duì)，有時(shí)加以解釋，而從不惱怒。
某同學(xué)喜愛文藝。在諸多學(xué)科中，尤以中國(guó)漢語見長(zhǎng)。在語文課上，常常即興配合課文內(nèi)容進(jìn)行人物表演。其語文成績(jī)也多次名列班級(jí)前矛。久而久之，其表演才能更擴(kuò)大到了小品、相聲、講故事等范疇，并數(shù)次在學(xué)校藝術(shù)節(jié)上獲獎(jiǎng)。除此之外，某同學(xué)非常愛好音樂，至今已學(xué)習(xí)鋼琴多年，在學(xué)校藝術(shù)節(jié)和家長(zhǎng)會(huì)上多次表演，得到了老師、同學(xué)和家長(zhǎng)的好評(píng)。上學(xué)期，他與同學(xué)合作，自編、自導(dǎo)、自演，參加了市中學(xué)生形象大賽，獲得第七名。這個(gè)星期，他又剛剛和我班另外兩位同學(xué)一樣，闖入了恒福中學(xué)第三屆中學(xué)生形象大賽個(gè)人賽的決賽。

In closing, let me take a moment to recount an incident which I believe speaks volumes about the superior nature of this candidate. Two years ago I was returning from lunch to my office when I saw ahead of me in the hallway 90 pound Martha, arms stretched out between two 180+ pound students, one a Special Ed student and the other a school bully. Other students were standing by motionless or laughing while Martha showed the leadership and courage to immediately put an end to the embarrassing fight that had erupted.
It is clear to me as I hope it is to you that this young woman, Martha Holden, is an
exceptional candidate, one that would contribute greatly to any program. I wholeheartedly recommend her and wish her the very best in all future endeavors.
