　　As you know, both subsidiary companies have faced considerable problems recently, becauseboth the factory in Suzhou of Jiangsu Province and the factory in Dongguan of GuangdongProvince produce the same range of products. A major question with the Board is whichcompany to close. Briefly these are some of the facts we have looked at: overall production inDongguan was down 10% over the last year. In Suzhou, the figure was nearer 27%. This lowfigure for Suzhou reflects the great increase in the amount of time lost through industrial trouble.Fortunately, Dongguan has not had the same problems. But neither company made any realprofit during the last financial year. Our Marietta share in Vietnam is lower this year than before,but at the same time our wage-bill is also lower. In India, too,our market share dropped badlylast year, but the number of employees is in fact higher.

　　大家知道，我們的兩個(gè)附屬公司都面臨著相當(dāng)多的問題。因?yàn)樵谔K州和東莞的兩家工廠目前都在生產(chǎn)同一種產(chǎn)品，董事會(huì)所要討論的一個(gè)主要問題就是決定關(guān)閉哪家工廠。下面我們簡單地來看一組數(shù)據(jù)：東莞的總產(chǎn)量去年下降了10%，蘇州的總產(chǎn)量下降了將近27%。蘇州的數(shù)字讓我們看到，勞資糾紛導(dǎo)致的時(shí)間損失越來越多。幸運(yùn)的是，東莞目前還沒有這些問題。不過，這兩個(gè)公司在上一財(cái)政年度中都沒有創(chuàng)造實(shí)際利潤。在越南，我們的市場份額今年也比往年低，但是工資支出也比較低。在印度，我們的市場份額在去年同樣是大幅度下降，但是員工數(shù)量卻比以前更多了。
